Medico-Legal experience

Professor Sangar is registered with APIL, National Crime Agency (NCA) and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. He has a certificate in Expert Witness Report Writing (Bond Solon). He is happy to represent both Claimant and Defendant law firms in both personal injury and clinical negligence actions. His claimant to defendant split ratio is 80:20. Professor Sangar can usually turnaround reports within 8-10 weeks, sooner if required.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Professor Sangar has worked as a Consultant Urological Surgeon since 2007 after training in Manchester, London, and Strasbourg. Since 2018, he has been a Professor of Urology at the University of Manchester/Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre. Professor Sangar specialises in mens health conditions, especially penile cancer, and is one of the Leading Clinicians in the UK.

Clinical Interests

Professor Sangar has clinical interests in urological oncology, including of the penis, bladder, prostate, and testis as well as andrology, including erectile dysfunction, peyronies, trauma, and testis problems. He also examines rare disease, such as sarcoma of the abdomen and pelvis. Professor Sangar has a specialist interest in penile surgery, which includes reconstruction and sexual dysfunction. This has further led to an interest in male factor infertility, including ‘loupes assisted’ vasectomy reversal. In addition to this, Professor Sangar has developed a specialist interest in technologies for treating conditions of the bladder and prostate.

Research Interests

Professor Sangar's research interests include penile cancer including it's management, predictors, treatments and outcomes, and bladder cancer including organ sparing technology and treatments.

Summary of Publications

Professor Sangar has 90 publications (papers, reviews, abstracts) in peer reviewed journals, as well as 20 additional articles in non-peer reviewed journals. His Google Scholar Index is 28, in-keeping with international level expertise.

Teaching & Training

Professor Sangar is a Professor of Urology in the faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health at the University of Manchester and has been since 2018. He trains medical students and postgraduate fellows/trainees in Urology. He also supervises MD and PhD students.

BUF Clinical Visit Fellowship to The Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam to work with Prof S. Horenblas a world-renowned penile cancer expert. Jan 2007.
