Medico-Legal experience

Mr Kumar is registered with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), the National Crime Agency (NCA), and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. He has completed the Bond Solon Medicolegal Cardiff University Certification. He is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence actions with a Claimant/Defendant split of 50:50. Mr Kumar can usually turnaround reports within 6-8 weeks, sooner if required.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Mr Kumar is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Oncological Surgeon at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He qualified at the University College London Medical School in 2003 and went onto undertake his early surgical training in the North West. Mr Kumar has completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and sarcoma in the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, and the Wrightington, Wigan, and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.

Clinical Interests

Mr Kumar has special interests in musculoskeletal oncology, in particular soft tissue sarcomas, bone tumours, metastatic bone disease, and hip and knee surgery including joint replacement.

Research Interests

Mr Kumar has research interests in areas of arthroplasty and sarcoma.

Management Experience

Mr Kumar is the Clinical Director of Sarcoma and Metastatic Bone Disease for Greater Manchester Cancer Board and Manchester University Hospitals. He sits on National and Regional Boards for Sarcoma.

Teaching & Training

Mr Kumar is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester where he is an Academic Supervisor and a Clinical Supervisor to undergraduate medical students. Mr Kumar is a Lecturer and course organiser for Postgraduate Orthopaedics Surgeons in the North West Training Programme. He also is a Faculty and Course Organiser for the Orthopaedic Oncology Diploma, Royal College of Surgeons London.
