Expert Witness – Dr David Lo
Associate Professor & Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine

Dr David Lo is a Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) at the Leicester Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor with the University of Leicester.

After completing his schooling in Norfolk, David was awarded his medical degree from the University of Leicester in 2006, before completing a GMC accredited higher specialist training programme covering all aspects of PRM throughout the East Midlands and being appointed as an NHS Consultant in 2018.

Dr Lo has expertise in the management of children with a broad range of respiratory presentations, including: asthma, wheeze, cough, breathlessness, recurrent and acute chest infections, chronic lung diseases including bronchiectasis, congenital lung malformations, and airway abnormalities amongst other complex lung diseases.

Dr Lo is active in research and was awarded a prestigious National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Advanced fellowship in 2022, providing funding for a programme of research into wheeze and asthma in preschool children.

Dr Lo has published extensively in the field of paediatric respiratory medicine, contributing numerous articles to peer-reviewed journals. His work has significantly advanced the understanding and management of respiratory conditions in children.

As part of clinical and academic roles, Dr Lo contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate training and supervision. He also currently supervises three PhD students, and one Academic Clinical Lecturer.

Dr Lo attended the Bond Solon “Excellence in Report Writing” course. Dr Lo is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant instructions, and can usually turnaround reports within 8 weeks, sooner if required.
