Dr Gladman is a Consultant Allergist at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London, within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. After graduating from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2017, he completed his core medical training in London before relocating to Southampton, a World Allergy Organisation Centre of Excellence, to undertake specialty training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. While in Southampton he earned an MSc in Allergy with distinction from the University of Southampton, successfully passed the Royal College of Pathologists’ Allergy and Clinical Immunology Certificate Examination, and achieved the EAACI/UEMS Knowledge Examination in Allergology and Clinical Immunology, confirming his expertise at a European level.
Since joining the Chest and Allergy Clinic at St Mary’s Hospital, Dr Gladman has been a pivotal member of a tertiary NHS allergy service that provides comprehensive assessment and management of food and drug allergies, investigation of anaphylaxis, venom and aeroallergen immunotherapy, and multidisciplinary support for the full spectrum of allergic diseases. His day‑to‑day practice integrates detailed clinical histories, sophisticated diagnostic testing, and individualized treatment plans, ensuring that patients receive evidence‑based, patient‑centred care across both acute and chronic allergy pathways.
Clinical Interests
Dr Gladman’s clinical focus centres on drug allergy and peri‑operative anaphylaxis, areas in which he has both academic and practical expertise. His MSc thesis introduced a novel penicillin allergy testing protocol that was subsequently implemented at the Southampton allergy service, streamlining risk assessment and reducing unnecessary antibiotic avoidance.
At St Mary’s Hospital, he runs a dedicated drug allergy clinic, overseeing complex investigations such as low‑dose intravenous challenge testing to neuromuscular blocking agents and managing high‑risk peri‑operative patients. His interest in peri‑operative anaphylaxis has driven the development of multidisciplinary pathways that liaise closely with anesthetic teams, enabling rapid identification of causative agents and the implementation of preventive strategies for future surgeries.
