Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr Jansa Perez graduated from the University of Barcelona in 1990 with a BSc in Biology, specialising in Genetics. In 1995, Dr Jansa Perez obtained her PhD in Molecular Genetics. In addition, she is registered  with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist and has obtained a Diploma from the Royal College of Pathologists in Clinical Embryology.

Over the last 25 years Dr Jansa Perez has gained extensive experience in the field  of fertility and embryology, working in several clinics and hospitals (both NHS and private) in senior Embryology roles, including Hammersmith Hospital and King’s College Hospital.

Currently, Dr Jansa Perez is the Director of Embryology and HFEA Person Responsible at the Bridge Clinic London, a leading fertility care clinic based in central London. Alongside this role, Dr Jansa Perez is also a Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Imperial College London and the Treasurer for the British Fertility Society

Clinical Interests

Dr Jansa Perez has gained extensive experience in her roles. Her clinical interests lie in fertility, clinical embryology, and all fertility treatments, including IVF, ICSI, IUI, gamete and embryo donation and fertility preservation with a focus on evidence-based practice.

Research Interests

Dr Jansa Perez has participated in egg and embryo research projects with groups from Imperial College London and the Francis Crick Institute as well as led and established participation in randomised controlled trials (e-freeze and HaBSelect).

Summary of Publications

Dr Jansa Perez has co-authored and published multiple articles. These have most recently included ‘The Use of ICSI in ART: Evidence for Practice’ and ‘UK guidelines for the medical and laboratory procurement and use of sperm, oocyte and embryo donors’ Human Fertility (Camb).

Teaching & Training

Dr Jansa Perez has holds the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Imperial College London and regularly lectures and supervises projects for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Prizes and Awards

2011: Claire Gillott Memorial Prize (ACE) for her leadership role as Consultant Embryologist at the King’s College Hospital Assisted Conception Unit.

2019: Imperial College NHS Trust ‘Make a Difference Award’ for service provision at the Wolfson Fertility Centre.
