A cataract is when the lens in the eye becomes cloudy, blocking light from entering the eye and causing loss of vision. Whilst most cataracts develop with age, cataracts can also develop following trauma to the eye or may be congenital. Cataracts can be treated through a simple surgical procedure under local anaesthetic. Our expert witnesses are available to provide their expert medico legal opinion on the management and prognosis of cataracts.
