We are delighted to welcome Dr Nayyar Saleem to McCollum Consultants as an expert witness in the field of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology.
Dr Saleem is a Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, a position held since 2017. He brings a wealth of experience in the minimally invasive endovascular treatment of complex neurovascular conditions, including brain aneurysms, arterial dissections, dural arteriovenous fistulae, and AVMs. He has significant expertise in mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke and is highly proficient in carotid and vertebral angioplasty and stenting.
In addition to his cranial work, Dr Saleem undertakes advanced spinal imaging and interventions, including spinal angiography and the endovascular treatment of spinal arteriovenous shunts and CSF venous fistulae.
Dr Saleem is actively involved in research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications on intracranial aneurysm management and novel neurointerventional techniques. He also serves as Clinical Lead for the Neuro-intervention Service at Leeds, overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality care.
Alongside his clinical and research roles, Dr Saleem is committed to teaching and training, holding an Honorary Senior Lectureship at the University of Leeds and regularly contributing to radiology education at the Leeds Radiology Academy.
