Mr Sutton is a Consultant Colorectal, Pelvic and Peritoneal Surgeon with specialist expertise in benign and malignant colorectal disease, including colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, bowel obstruction, hernias, and haemorrhoids. He is a fully accredited JAG endoscopist for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy, with advanced training in laparoscopic, robotic, and complex oncological colorectal surgery.

Alongside his clinical practice at The Christie Hospital and HCA The Christie Private Care, he is Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Manchester and Editor of the British Journal of Surgery.

He also has extensive medico-legal experience as an expert witness and has authored over 100 publications in colorectal cancer and surgical research.

In this webinar, Mr Sutton will explore why many iatrogenic injuries are considered accepted surgical risks rather than evidence of negligence and will discuss the clinical and documentary features that may indicate a breach of duty of care. The session will be particularly relevant for clinicians, lawyers, and medico-legal professionals working in clinical negligence.
