Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Dr Browne has provided medico-legal services for psychological and neuropsychological personal injury claims since 2018. She is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence actions. Dr Browne has attended various conferences and medico-legal training workshops.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr Browne obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy (BA) from the University of Warwick in 1999, a Master’s degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology (Mc) from University College London in 2001, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD) from the University of East Anglia in 2006. She has chartered / Practitioner Psychologist registration with the governing body for clinical psychologists, the Health and Care Professions Council. Dr Browne has provided assessment and intervention for inpatients and outpatients with psychological difficulties since qualification as a Clinical Psychologist in 2006. She held the position of Joint Head of the Neuropsychology Department at the Addenbrooke’s Hospital between 2012 and 2020, when she grew a staff team from a compliment of two to twelve, led inpatient neuropsychology services for the Neuroscience Division and the hospital more broadly, and developed policies and procedures for neuropsychological assessment and intervention within the Major Trauma Centre since its advent in 2012. In 2022, she launched the Cambridge Neuropsychology Clinic. Dr Browne continues to work for the Department as a Consultant.

Clinical Interests

In her neuropsychology positions at the Addenbrooke’s Hospital, her outpatient diagnostic assessments have focused on differentiating between neurological and mental health presentations of psychological and cognitive symptoms. Inpatient services have focused on the assessment and treatment of the emotional, behavioural, and cognitive sequalae of traumatic brain injury.

Research Interests

Dr Browne’s research interests include memory investigations, with a special focus on memory loss, including in patients with amnesia and alzheimers.

Management Experience

Dr Browne has developed a successful private practice and in 2022 launched the Cambridge Neuropsychology Clinic where she takes the role of a Managing Director.

Summary of Publications

Dr Browne has published peer-reviewed research articles covering memory therapy, amnesia of various types, including post traumatic amnesia, and selective anterograde amnesia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Teaching & Training

Dr Browne holds an Affiliated Lecturer position at the Department of Psychology for the University of Cambridge.
