Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Mr Nunns has been providing medico-legal advice for a number of years and has undergone his expert witness training. He is registered with APIL, AvMA, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. Mr Nunns enjoys a full medico-legal practice representing both Claimant and Defendant law firms in actions relating to personal injury and clinical negligence. His Claimant/Defendant ratio split is approximately 70/30 and he can usually turnaround reports within 6-8 weeks, sooner if required.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Mr Nunns qualified in medicine at the University of Manchester in 1991. He went on to complete subspecialist gynaecology training in Manchester, Derby and Leicester before completing subspecialist training in gynaecological oncology in Adelaide and Leicester. Since 2002, Mr Nunns practiced as a Consultant Gynaecologist at Nottingham University Hospitals and is an accredited colposcopist with the British Society for the Study of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).

Clinical Interests

Mr Nunns has a variety of clinical interests including ovarian cysts, colposcopy for abnormal smears, vulvar problems/disease, menstrual problems, hysteroscopy, general and emergency gynaecology, post-menopausal bleeding, prophylactic surgery for familial ovarian/endometrial cancer and matters relating to delayed diagnosis of cancer.

Research Interests

Mr Nunns completed a higher research degree (MD) in vulval disease in 1995. This focused on women with vulval pain from vulvodynia.

Management Experience

Mr Nunns is lead for gynaecology governance and gynaecological oncology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the Chair of the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease.

Summary of Publications

Mr Nunns is an author of 23 peer-reviewed medical journal publications and has written seven book chapters in core medical textbooks. He was formerly on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO).
