Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Mr Hakimi has acted as an expert witness since 2018. He has attended Expert Witness Report Writing training with Bond Salon, and attends yearly conferences. He is happy to see a wide range of clients, including those with fractures, arthritis, joint replacements, soft tissue injuries, back pain, whiplash and complication arising from any of the above conditions and treatments. Mr Hakimi is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defence law firms.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Mr Haikimi qualified in 2001. Since then, he has undertaken vast orthopaedic training. He completed six years of Trauma and Orthopaedic Training in the North West Deanery, working at different hospitals throughout the North West. He has worked with highly regarded Consultants in the region in some of the busiest hospitals. During his orthopaedic surgery training in the northwest Mr Hakimi trained in various techniques in Hip and knee surgery at different busy orthopaedic centres including Wrightington Hospital; He then undertook fellowship in Hip and Knee arthroplasty at Chapel Alerton Hospital in Leeds. Currently, Mr Hakimi holds the position of Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Outside of the NHS, he also runs a successful private practice.

Clinical Interests

Mr Hakimi is fellowship-trained in dealing with complex Hip and Knee problems, including primary and revision hip and knee replacement, and keyhole surgery of the knee. His clinical interests include: complex trauma cases, soft tissue injuries, rib fractures, arthiritis, and total hip and knee replacements.

Research Interests

Mr Hakimi has undertaken multiple research projects. These have included looking into: ‘TSF for tibial fractures in children and adolescence. ‘Functional outcome of Total hip Arthroplasty after Hip Arthroscopy – A retrospective comparative cohort study.’ ‘Not all patients with a neck of femur fracture are the same - suitability for total hip replacement identifies a much fitter patient cohort with better outcomes.’

Management Experience

Between 2018 – 2023, Mr Hakimi was the Trauma and fracture neck of femur lead (Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust). He has undertaken management and leadership training for doctors. He is also the Chairman and Co-founder of Action For Humanity (UK registered charity).

Summary of Publications

Mr Hakimi has published eight articles, two abstracts, and five research papers. He has done podium presentations to Learned Societies - four nationally and eight internationally - along with poster presentations nationally and internationally.

Teaching & Training

Mr Hakimi has offered regular weekly teaching sessions to 4th year Medical Students at Salford Royal Hospital and was a Faculty member of Orthopaedic Booth Camp for Junior Doctors at Salford Royal Hospital and for a FRCS course at Wrightington Hospital. Mr Hakimi is also a faculty member of the Surgical Training in Austere Environment course, which is run by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He teaches the management of orthopaedic injuries in austere environment.
