Medico-Legal experience

Dr Nadarajan started his medico-legal practice in 2019. He has completed a Bond Solon ‘Excellence in Report Writing’ course in 2018. Dr Nadrajan is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence actions.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr. Nadarajan is a substantive Consultant Stroke Physician at the Royal Free Hospital, London, a position he has held since 2015. In this role, he provides comprehensive clinical leadership and care for patients experiencing a wide range of cerebrovascular events. He further extends his expertise as an Honorary Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery’s Hyper-acute Stroke Unit, actively participating on the on-call consultant rota and contributing to the immediate, critical management of complex stroke cases.

Dr. Nadarajan is a highly experienced clinician with advanced training and expertise in Stroke Medicine, General Internal Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine. He possesses a decade of dedicated experience in the comprehensive assessment and management of acute stroke patients, encompassing the full spectrum of care from initial diagnosis to long-term rehabilitation. This includes proficiency in the administration and monitoring of thrombolysis and thrombectomy, the management of transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs), the treatment of stroke complications, detailed investigation of stroke aetiology, and the implementation of effective stroke secondary prevention strategies.

Dr. Nadarajan directly leads and manages the daily acute neurovascular/TIA clinic at the Royal Free Hospital, providing specialised assessment and care for patients presenting with these urgent neurological conditions.

Clinical Interests

Dr Nadarajan’s clinical interests are in diagnosing and managing patients with acute stroke, TIA, and cervical vessel dissection. His other clinical interests include diagnosis of stroke aetiology, in particular Embolic Strokes of Undetermined Source and secondary prevention of stroke/TIA.

Research Interests

Dr Nadarajan has strong academic background; he has published articles in peer review scientific journals and presented posters at National Conferences. He has previously been involved in recruiting patients to be involved in clinical stroke trials.

Management Experience

Dr Nadarajan was the Clinical Lead for Stroke Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital (2018 – 2022). Previously Dr Nadarajan also completed a Darzi Fellowship in Leadership and Management (2013-14). During his Darzi Fellowship he also completed a PGCE in Clinical Leadership from University of Leeds (2014).

Teaching & Training

Dr. Nadarajan is an Educational Supervisor at Royal Free Hospital (RFH), dedicated to training the next generation of doctors. Based in a busy London teaching hospital, he regularly teaches and mentors both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate resident doctors. He also contributes to medical education externally, currently examining for undergraduate medical students at UCL Medical School. Dr. Nadarajan previously served as a MRCP Examiner from 2016 to 2019.
