Mr Sepehripour is happy to be instructed by both Claimant and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence cases.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Mr Sepehripour is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (Nov 2021 – present), performing the full range of adult cardiac surgery operations. He also brings extensive experience in trauma management, having worked at all four of London’s Major Trauma Centres, as well as continuing to treat trauma cases at Manchester Royal Infirmary. This broad experience ensures a comprehensive skill set in both elective and emergency cardiac and thoracic care.

Clinical Interests

Mr Sepehripours clinical interests center around advanced techniques in cardiac surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive and endoscopic approaches to improve patient outcomes and recovery. He specialises in complex procedures including mitral valve repair surgery, striving to restore valve function whenever possible, as well as off-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery to avoid the complications associated with cardiopulmonary bypass. Furthermore, he has a strong interest and expertise in the challenging field of complex aortic surgery, addressing a range of aortic pathologies with the goal of long-term durability and improved quality of life for his patients.

Research Interests

Mr Sepehripour is actively engaged in academic research as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester, within the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre. He serves as the Primary Investigator at Manchester Foundation Trust for three ongoing international randomised controlled trials (RCTs), demonstrating a commitment to advancing evidence-based practice in cardiac surgery. His research specifically focuses on the development and evaluation of techniques in minimally invasive and endoscopic cardiac surgery, aiming to improve patient outcomes and refine surgical approaches.

Management Experience

Mr Sepehripour has extensive leadership experience within cardiac surgery. He spearheaded the development of a comprehensive minimally invasive cardiac surgery programme at Manchester Foundation Trust, driving innovation and improved patient care. Further demonstrating his commitment to optimising patient pathways, he actively participated in a working group focused on developing a streamlined day of surgery admission process for elective cardiac surgery at the same institution. Beyond local contributions, Mr. AS represents Manchester Foundation Trust on a national level as a Co-representative for the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) Board of Representatives (BORS), contributing to broader advancements in the field.

Summary of Publications

Mr Sepehripour has built a wealth of peer-reviewed publications, totaling 38 articles in leading journals, alongside five published book chapters. He is also a sought-after speaker, presenting his work at 26 international and 12 national conferences. This consistent dissemination of research and clinical expertise underscores his commitment to advancing the field of cardiac surgery.

Teaching & Training

Mr Sepehripour demonstrates a strong commitment to education and training, demonstrated by his position as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester (Manchester Academic Health Science Centre) and a longstanding record of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
