Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Mr Eralil has undergone multiple medical legal training courses and has provided his expert opinion on all aspects of routine neurosurgical practice. He has also attended court on numerous occasions as an expert witness. He is happy to take on both claimant and defendant instructions.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Mr Eralil graduated in medicine from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in Kolar, India before pursuing Neurosurgery training in the United Kingdom. Mr Eralil went on to train under prominement Neurosurgeons. After obtaining the FRCS qualification in Neurosurgery, he went to London where he completed specialist Fellowships in NeuroOncology and Complex Spinal Surgery within the Atkinson Morley Neurosciences Division at St. George’s Hospital.

 

Currently, Mr Eralil is a Consultant Neurosurgeon. He is also the Facial Pain Service Lead in South and West Wales, and was the Brain and CNS Cancer Lead for South and West Wales until 2023.

Clinical Interests

While Mr Eralil has trained in various aspects of Brain and Spine surgery, his clinical interests focus on: Neurosurgical Oncology of the Brain and Spinal Cord, Surgery for Cranial Neuropathies (Trigeminal, Glossopharyngeal, Geniculate Neuralgias; Hemifacial Spasm), and Complex Spinal Surgery. He also focuses on degenerative disorders of the lumbar spine and cervical spine, surgeries for facial pain and cranial nerve hyperactive discorders, brain tumours, spinal cord tumours, disorders of cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, and disorders of the cranio-cervical junction.

Research Interests

Currently, Mr Eralil is the Principal Investigator for the FUTURE-GB Trial which is a novel multicentre surgical trial to evaluate the advantages of navigated ultrasound and DTI imaging in the treatment of glioblastoma. He is also partaking in studies involving facial pain and trigeminal neuralgia.

Management Experience

Mr Eralil is currently the lead for Facial Pain Services in South and West Wales and was the Brain and CNS Cancer Lead until 2023.
