Overview

Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr Pramod Nair is an experienced NHS Consultant Paediatrician with over two decades of clinical practice, delivering comprehensive general paediatric care across the full infancy-to-adolescence age spectrum. Graduating from Mumbai University in 1998, he completed rigorous postgraduate paediatric training in Mumbai, earning his DCH and FCPS degrees, before moving to the UK in 2004. He successfully passed the MRCPCH examination in 2008 following intensive higher specialty training through the Nottingham (East Midlands) Deanery. His foundational training provided broad rotational exposure across neonatal and paediatric intensive care, ECMO, paediatric cardiology, oncology, endocrinology, allergy, anaesthesia, and community paediatrics. This comprehensive clinical foundation now underpins his work as a well-rounded general paediatrician, enabling him to confidently assess, diagnose, and manage the full spectrum of childhood illness—from common acute and chronic conditions to complex multisystem presentations.

Dr Nair currently serves as an NHS Consultant Paediatrician at Bedford Hospital and as an Honorary Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He also maintains a dedicated weekly private practice at the Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes, where he provides accessible, family-centred paediatric care, coordinated investigations, and seamless multidisciplinary referrals within a supportive, child-friendly environment.

Clinical Interests

Dr Nair practices general paediatrics, skillfully incorporating subspecialty knowledge to optimise both diagnosis and the enduring health of children. Her clinical work encompasses well-baby and child health clinics, alongside proactive growth and developmental surveillance and routine health screenings, providing complete care for common childhood illnesses. She offers expert assessment and management of cardiovascular and autonomic disorders including paediatric cardiology, arrhythmias, and syncope, with a particular focus on evidence-based approaches to Paediatric Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).

Dr Nair also provides comprehensive care for allergy, immunology and respiratory conditions, including paediatric allergies, Cow’s Milk Protein Intolerance, asthma, and coeliac disease, utilising structured allergy testing and appropriate paediatric blood investigation pathways. Further to this, she specialises in paediatric growth optimisation, endocrine surveillance, and the management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and metabolic screening, alongside medical management of infantile haemangiomas with beta-blocker therapy. Dr. Nair expertly interprets a range of investigations – including X-ray, ultrasound and MRI – and coordinates care effectively, benefiting from well-established referral networks to specialist colleagues.
