Central Line Expert Witnesses

A central line, or central venous catheter (CVC), is when a catheter is inserted into a large vein in the neck, chest, or groin, under ultrasound guidance. A CVC may be implemented in a variety of scenarios, including multiple drug infusions, emergency peripheral vascular shutdown, long-term intravenous medication, central vein blood pressure monitoring, nutrition direct into the blood, haemodialysis, or when frequent blood samples are required. CVC’s are associated with various risks and require expert implementation and management.
