Clinical Practice & Experience
Mr Lang has been a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Wythenshawe Hospital, part of the Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust, for over 23 years and until recently, was the Clinical Lead for Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition to dealing with elective orthopaedic procedures of the lower limbs – particularly knee procedures – he provides a general on-call emergency service for the Major Trauma Centre in Manchester, which covers a large area of the North West of England. He also works closely with the plastic and reconstructive surgeons at the Wythenshawe Hospital in joint management of serious trauma.
Mr Lang has a special interest in musculoskeletal trauma, sporting injuries to the lower limb, arthroscopic surgery of the knee, knee ligament reconstruction, and primary knee and hip replacement. He has an extensive experience of hip surgery for trauma and reconstruction, currently providing senior support for the regional Hip Fracture Unit at the Manchester NHS Foundation Trust.
