Clinical Practice & Experience
Dr Cutting has worked as a Consultant in Haematology since 2010, including overseas experience in New Zealand. He is currently employed at large Teaching Hospital in the North of England providing level 2A care to patients with haematological malignancy. He is currently Laboratory lead for haematology and haematology representative on the hospital VTE committee. Dr Cutting is also a reporter for the South Yorkshire Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS).
Clinical Interests
Dr Cutting has an interest in haematology malignancy, in particular the management of Myeloma and Lymphoma but also extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of myeloid malignancy (acute myeloid leukaemia and myelodysplasia), myeloproliferative disorders, and general benign haematology including management of difficult venous thromboembolism cases.
Management Experience
Dr Cutting is the Deputy Chair of the Haematology Cancer Delivery Group for South Yorkshire and North Trent (he is due to assume Chair in October 2023). Previously, he was the Deputy Chair and then Chair of the North Trent Network Site Specific Group (NSSG) responsible for improving cancer outcomes across the region. He is current laboratory lead for haematology and is current haematology representative on the hospital VTE committee. During his career he has held roles in chemotherapy governance, hospital VTE committee and as regional deputy chair for the myeloma MDT.
Research Interests
Dr Cutting read for the degree of MD at the Academic Unit of Child Health, University of Sheffield, and was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in 2015. He has experience as principal investigator in a number of haematology-oncology trials. Dr Cutting holds a current Good Clinical Practice certification for participation in current clinical trials.
