Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Dr Scott is currently undergoing his expert witness training. Dr Scott is registered with APIL, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. He is happy to be instructed by Claimant and Defendant law firms in both personal injury and clinical negligence cases. Dr Scott can produce reports within 6-8 weeks, sooner if required.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr Scott graduated in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Liverpool and proceeded to graduate with an MBChB in Medicine at the University of Manchester in 2007. In 2010 Dr Scott became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and shortly after, in 2015, he gained fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists. Most recently, in 2021, Dr Scott gained his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Manchester.

Currently, Dr Scott is a Consultant Haematologist with a special interest in haemostasis and thrombosis, based at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Clinical Interests

Dr Scott has a particular interest in haemophilia and clotting disorders, including acquired coagulopathies. Dr Scott’s expertise spans both inherited and acquired bleeding disorders, obstetric haemostasis and thrombosis, venous thrombosis, thrombophilia, and anticoagulation.

Research Interests

Real World treatment practice and outcomes in Haemophilia. Electronic reporting systems. Dr Scott has undertaken oral presentations at both national and international levels. Most recently, these include: November 2019: UK Haemophilia Centre Doctors Organisation (UKHCDO) AGM, London. May 2018: World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH), Glasgow. February 2018: European Association of Haematology and Allied Disorders (EAHAD), Madrid. November 2017: UK Haemophilia Centres Doctors Organisation (UKHCDO) AGM, London.

Management Experience

Dr Scott is the Centre Director at the Manchester Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre and he is also the Junior Doctor Lead for the Department of Haematology at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Dr Scott holds the position of Chair of Haemtrack Users Update Group at the UK Haemophilia Centre Doctor’s Organisation.

Summary of Publications

Dr Scott has published 16 articles in well-known journals and has authored on 13 abstracts/presentations.

Teaching & Training

Since 2014, Dr Scott has been a Lecturer for the Manchester Coagulation Course and has been an invited Speaker at various national and international professional and pharma sponsored seminars.
