Overview

Medico-Legal experience

Dr Watt has undergone his medico-legal training. He has undergone his expert witness training. He enjoys a full medico-legal practice representing both Claimants and Defendant law firms in personal injury and clinical negligence actions. Dr Watt holds weekly medico-legal clinics in Manchester but is happy to travel in order to conduct home and prison visits. His Claimant/Defendant ratio split is approximately 80/20 and he can usually turnaround reports within 6-8weeks, sooner if required.

Clinical Practice & Experience

Dr Watt has practised as a Consultant Haematologist at the Wythenshawe Hospital, part of the Manchester University, since 2009. Since 2010, he has been the Haematology Department Lead and has managed a large increase in patient workload. He also works in the Regional Haemo-Oncology Diagnostic Service.

Clinical Interests

He has a broad haematology clinical practice including haemato-oncology, haemostasis & thrombosis and general haematological conditions.

Research Interests

Dr Watt has taken part in clinical trials in myeloproliferative, lymphoproliferative disorders, myeloma and thrombotic disorders. He has been a Principal Investigator at Wythenshawe Hospital for more than 10 studies and National Chief Investigator on AGB002 - a biosimilar antibody study.

Teaching & Training

Since 2009, Dr Watt has been a Lecturer on the Manchester Blood Coagulation Course and is an Educational Supervisor for CT1 trainees.
